Thieve is back! Here’s their new single, Wild Western Cape

I remember the launch of Thieve‘s first single. I remember the feeling of something distinct and different coming from Cape Town, just when the Bellville music scene’s exports seemed to dry up. And now, after a long silence, they’ve announced their sophomore album, and launched the first single: Wild Western Cape.

Thieve Wild Western Cape

The band (Sheldon Yoko, Andrew Davenport, & Fred Den Hartog) have apparently been working on the album for a couple of months in a “make-shift, beach side” studio. Which sounds like the perfect place to craft some fun, party music. And if there’s one word that describes Wild Western Cape, it’s “fun”. The song, and accompanying behind-the-scenes music video (directed by Jaco S. Venter) is all about beat-driven, bass-boosted, good times and wild nights available in the “Wild Western Cape” – which ends up with us having “[either] all or nothing,” cause “At the end of the day, we’re gonna end up alone anyway.” It’s about going out for a blast, and going out with a bang, and leaving your worries at the door.

The album, titled Extra Ordinary, promises to be Thieve‘s best work yet, and will be launched with a nationwide tour in April. See all their launch dates below:
